Hi everyone we are back in Michigan and having a very busy time. My flight from Addis to home was delayed 2-1/2 hours and then we left for Rome and we were on the ground there for 2 hours. So I arrived late in Washington and just made my flight to Chicago after going thru Customs, Immigration and getting boarding passes to fly to Chicago I met Barbara and Bob Green and had a Maxwell Street Polish at a little restaurant and visited with them. Then went to my gate and got to visit with another friend Chloie for 30 minutes before she had to go to work. We waited to board then we received news we were delayed waiting for a plane from the hanger. Then my flight from Chicago to Saginaw was canceled because of mechanical problems so I was put up in a hotel near the airport and given a ticket to get to and from the airport to the hotel and back. It was a beautiful hotel room but all I wanted was to go home and see Shannon and Jim. Jim arrived on Wednesday but 2 hours late because of delay. I arrived Thursday. After he got me from the airport and had lunch Jim headed to Detroit to pick up the spear from the storage place at the airport. His doctor appointment was changed so we went to see his mother and get mine. so there has been a lot of change in plans but we now have Tom’s truck to drive for a couple of weeks until we decide what to do.
Jim is going to Phoenix on Monday after his dentist appointment because he is going to go back to Addis to teach one more year. Judy the person who was scheduled to replace him for family reasons had to cancel coming so the Dean Abye, Associate Dean Melese and Ato Mamo asked if he could return for one more year. They are in the process of hiring two professors for a two year period so he will train them as to what he has been doing and they will take over next year when we gets ready to leave. They are going to get a car assigned to the School so he can do his field work and will give him a ticket to come back to the USA to job hunt next year in February or March and I will return with him to Addis after he comes to the USA. I have a few commitments to take care of before I go back to Addis.
We have seen our Shannon and both our mothers and some of the brothers and sisters but not all. Tom is out on the road and will be back next weekend to visit us. Jim has his family reunion next Saturday. So he will come home from Phoenix in time to see everyone in his family who he has not seen for almost 2 years. We hope to see everyone we write to before we both go back to Addis in March.
